I know all you "seasoned" quilters will not think this is much, but I just made my very first block!!! No...not quilt...block. This is all new to me and I am thrilled to get started. One of my goals was to learn to quilt and I have started...Jan 2! Yay! I made some half square triangles and put them together and I also made a hexagon flower...you know, like the Grandmother's Flower Garden. I love hand work and someone had given me a little kit. I decided now was the time! I can hardly wait for tomorrow to do more!

I'm not laughing. I was right where you are just a few months ago. These folks coached me through some UGLY practice blocks and gave me great tips. I'm still not up to the level of most of the rest, but I am half way through quilt #3. :)

I love your excitement. Makes me get excited all over again. Isn't it fun to create. Keep it up.

I remember how excited I was with my first block. It was an Ohio Star block and I thought it was wonderful. My next block was "Sister's Choice". I have to admit that I love making those two blocks.
Enjoy!!! |
I think that it is great that you are so excited!!!!!! Keep hold of that feeling. Before long you will have a lot more first along the way!
|
Just keep going and don't be afraid to try new things. Can't wait to see pictures of your work.
