And with the 4 point system, if it still wants to wobble, I've put a "shim" (my shim is a rubber slipper) under one foot and it becomes very steady. Like she said: wider feet:more stable.

Well my iron went out today. I think it was from being rocked off the board so many times. It was a Shark and I loved it. My back up is my Rowenta, which is heavier and doesn't seen to work as well as my Shark. So tomorrow I will be shopping for a new ironing board and iron.

I found an old one in very good condition at the thrift store. It is VERY heavy metal! It has the 4-point feet instead of the bars like the one shown. It does not MOVE at all when you are using it! :)

$47 seems like a lot of $$$, but you get what you pay for! Sure you can get one for under $10 but why??????

Thanks for all of the advise. I did get a new one at Target. I paid $59 for it. But I just decided that I am tired of not having a decent ironing board. I just have to get used to the iron holder on the end. I also bought an additional pad to go it since the one on it was very thin. My next project is to make a square board to go on top of this for extra ironing space.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! the reason? my DH burned my lovely old one when we moved 2001 ,we had furniture in store for 7mths SO he decided to "cut down", so as I was making curtains and all in a mess with blders went tonearest local charity shop and bought the only one there it wobbles but have now got used to it!!!!!!!!!!!
