Jelly rolls - is ONE enough for most projects?

Just wondering if one jelly roll (40 strips) is enough for most of the projects you've made lately? Or do you use two? Or supplement one jelly roll with other strips from your stash?

I don't have an answer - but anxious to see what others may offer in reply

So far, one roll has been enough with the addition of background or contrasting (mostly light) strips.

It would depend on the size of the project. I made a 72 x 88 quilt that I used 2 + rolls plus extras from my stash, not counting the borders, have about 14 strips left.

I was told by a friend whose quilt I admired, that with a border and binding, one roll was sufficient. I'm going to make one and hope she is right.

One is enough for a wall hanging, lap quilt, large crib.
I need 2 with supplements from my collection for a bed quilt.
My bed quilts are usually large double/queen.

Thank you!! Now I know to get two.

One is enough for a large lap quilt, but I had to add yardage for borders, backing and binding.

i would think that it would depend how much you cut up the strips.

I don't buy them with the idea I would be able to finish a quilt . They are a starting point or filler to increase variety of the fabrics in projects.... But have never purchased thinking that one would be all I need.
