I was just cruising around on ebay and ran across this sewing machine. Interesting, but way, way, out of my price range

Murphy 03-09-2011 06:24 AM

Whaaaaaaat!!

emerald46 03-09-2011 06:26 AM

lol...check out this guy's "other items" he is all for promo. As someone noted, the machine is not worth $10.00.

SherriB 03-09-2011 06:27 AM

Is that REAL gold or just gold paint? I tried to read the description but gave up.

pamkasperi 03-09-2011 06:32 AM

Ok that is just crazy...someone should send it in to David Letterman (doesn't he do the crazy ebay listings sometimes?)

Did you read the questions and his answers about the listing?

maryb119 03-09-2011 06:35 AM

I'm gonna pass on this one. It's way out of my price range.

dkabasketlady 03-09-2011 06:36 AM

What a joke! I got a GOOD laugh at his expense. I wouldn't give him a penny for what he did to this machine!

MTS 03-09-2011 06:46 AM

Did anyone actually read the complete listing?

Did anyone read the Ask Seller Questions posted in the listing?

There is nothing nefarious about the listing at all. The Seller is absolutely upfront about what he's doing here and what the buyer would be getting.

And anyone that didn't - which would include those that are  at the price - are probably the type of buyers that complain AFTER they've bought about something that was clearly spelled out in the listing.

Use the best offer feature and offer $10. Maybe he'll accept it.

sueisallaboutquilts 03-09-2011 06:47 AM

lynndianne 03-09-2011 06:48 AM

YIPES. But the shipping is only $2.21...what a deal.

Lynn

Patchwork Pam 03-09-2011 06:55 AM

It wont be coming to live at my house. Its not pretty anyway.

Lynn

but wait... he'll hand deliver it if you pay full price so no shipping fee!

medots 03-09-2011 07:10 AM

This is funny, still laughing.

smevvies 03-09-2011 07:11 AM

Yeah, but look! If you spend the $21 million on the machine, you will earn a whopping $200 in eBay Bucks!!! How can you turn down a deal like that??! Wow - I need to take my meds.

quiltsRfun 03-09-2011 07:31 AM

Yes, but you get a break on shipping - only $2.21. LOL

Aurora 03-09-2011 07:56 AM

Can you actually put a price tay on TACKY?

jillaine 03-09-2011 07:59 AM

damn... it's used...

Candace 03-09-2011 08:08 AM

That way he can put "221 shipping" in the title and his silly auction shows up in every search for a 221 featherweight. :?

Keyword spammers make the eBay search function nearly useless at times.

quilt1950 03-09-2011 08:43 AM

Did you notice that it doesn't work?

I didn't read the entire description, but he must use a generic description, because he mentions that if possible he will use a flat rate box.

Just another case of 'buyer beware'.

featherweight 03-09-2011 08:48 AM

That is so rediculus (SP) And to think he has to pay to even list this machine...

Dina 03-09-2011 08:57 AM

I read all of the information, and the price was just to get people to look at it. I think the guy has a good sense of humor. He is completely honest in his description and his answers to the questions. He does say it doesn't work and is just for decoration.

Of course, I don't want the machine. It doesn't really match my definition of "decoration."

My thoughts exactly.

EagarBeez 03-09-2011 09:19 AM

Holy cow!! That's funny, painting with gold paint and calling it gold. No one in their right mind would pay $1.00 for that

fabric_fancy 03-09-2011 09:46 AM

darn, i just spent my last 21 million on a yacht on ebay

jljack 03-09-2011 09:50 AM

This is just a stupid cheap trick!! This guy knows nothing about these machines, and this one doesn't even work!!

What a waste of time!!

Vickymomof6 03-09-2011 09:52 AM

crazy

cowgirlquilter 03-09-2011 09:52 AM

Wow....ifyou read farther, he is accepting ANY bids, and he also is not promising that it even functions. He painted it that way for fun and display.....what do you all think of this???

luvstitches 03-09-2011 09:53 AM

As far as I'm concerned, he ruined the machine.
In my opinion, it's not that flattering. Too bad....

almostfree 03-09-2011 09:54 AM

Wow! It better be gold allllll the way through it for that price! Yikes!

akrogirl 03-09-2011 10:12 AM

I showed it to DH but he wouldn't buy it for me - I was totally heartbroken :(
