Yesterday my hubby and I ventured out to Lancaster. My mission was to get fabric for my first OBW, however I did not find anything that said buy me and when I did find something I liked the repeat was not large enough. Lancaster was crowded but surprisingly the fabric shops were not crowded. I bought some unusual batiks (pictures 5-6). I have no clue what I am going to do with them.
Thanks for looking! |
Those are the prettiest souveniers I've seen!!
|
Nice!!! Love most of those...particularly those in the first picture
|
Opal I don't know if you have been reading all the posts lately about Batiks. A lot of the gals have said they bleed really bad. Make sure you wash and wash them over again until the water runs clear before using them in a quilt.
You got a nice assortment of fabrics. Happy Stitchin' crafty_linda_b |
Where did you go? I love the sewing theme fabrics in picture number 4. I have the one with the pins on it, but i love the two at the top.

Where is Lancaster? I visit Bel Camp, MD a couple times a year if it is anywhere close? Your fabrics choices are very nice...look fun to work with.

Your fabrics are beautiful! I especially love the trees in picture 2, and the spools of thread in the 4th one. Great variety!

They are all pretty, but the one with the sewing theme are really interesting. Looks like they are really getting ready for next season. Beautiful fall and winter colors!! Where did you go? Zooks, Farmer Brown, Weavers, Goods??

Beautiful fabrics! I love that new Sew Lovely line. I'm thinking of using the notions on cream print to make a curtain for my sewing room.

Answers to questions:
Lancaster is located in PA, approximately 1.5 hours from Annapolis MD. The fabrics were purchased at Zooks, The Old Country Store, Bitty Kinna's, and Dutchland Quilt Patch. The sewing fabrics were purchased at The Old Country Store. It was sold as a fat pack (containing 8 fat quarters). It is a collection from The Henley Studio, Makower UK. Unfortunately it is not on the website, but you could probably call the store (they had plenty there). The tree fabric was purchased at Zooks and I found it in the clearance bin. It is called Centenary Collection by Yoko Saito & Lechien (never heard of the mfg). |
You can go shopping for me anytime. What wonderful colors!
