Man that does sound painful. It's one of the reasons I don't let non quilters use the rotary cutter. It can happen so fast. Sorry to hear you hurt your paw!

Ouch' so sorry to here that. I do worry about cutting my myself. As for dropping it on my foot, I did drop a pair of scesors at work and would you know it went point down and got my toe, was wearing open toe shoes. I traded my push close cutter for one that closes when you release the handle.

Hurts me just to read it !!! So sorry, I guess we all think we are extra careful and it still happens!!

Those tools are dangerous weapons |
I know its not funny, but some of the posts about this had me laughing.
I believe if I sew/quilt long enough, something is bound to happen. I've had many needle stabs, including one with sewing machine needle pinning my finger to the feed dogs (many years ago - very old Singer when I was a child), but knock-on-wood (just knuckled top of my head) no cuts with rotary cutter yet - good reason to stop cutting when I get tired. Hoping it heals quickly, Jan |
As I read your post and all the others, I looked down at my right hand where it still red where I cut it yesterday with a rotary cutter, from second joint back to joint of fist. Boy does it hurt. Like everyone else, had a hard time getting it to stop bleeding, yes I take an aspirin a day. Just another reminder to be very careful.
