Been there, hope your finger gets better soon.

Ouch! So sorry! Yes, be careful to keep it clean, use Neosporin for a few days, go to the doc at the first sign if infection or slow healing, and decrease sugar intake for a few days. If you smoke, at *least* cut back. Sorry, can't help it (nurse. Also be sure your tetanus is up to date. If not, those immediate care centers can usually give you that. Just don't want anything worse to happen to you. Hugs.

I also cut the top of my foot when I dropped my cutter and sliced the h*** out of my foot. Could not stop it from bleeding, and still have a scar 6 months later. Those cutters cut deep.

Hope you heal soon. We all do a daft thing sooner or later. I am crossing my fingers that mine is later, but I must be close to the head of the queue!

I feel your pain.....literally. I sliced off part of my finger with my rotary cutter about 3 days ago. It was my first accident in over 6 years of quilting. Had to happen sooner or later.

Ugh! I cut myself a while back with a brand spanking new blade in my rotary cutter. Weird thing was, it did not hurt when I did it (blood all over, and me looking like a cartoon character- duh....what?) but boy did it hurt afterwards. Somehow I managed to run the cutter up the middle of my left index finger. Still don't know how I managed that. Some steri- strips and a finger immobilizer later, I was told to stay away from quilting until it healed. It took a while.

oooooh! Who knew quilting could be so dangerous! Thanks for reminding us to be vigilant when we are working with the "tools of the trade"
