I'd be a nice teacher and teach her to quilt :p

Holy moley. . . What an undertaking that would be. Beautiful but difficult. It is a challenge but what a sense of accomplishment it would give you, if you did. we would vote you the "best sister of the year" for at least two years. Let us know what you decide. Show us a pix if you make it.

That request makes me rather glad after all that my sister doesn't have any interest in quilts!

She doesn't quilt, I do. Am I this nice a sister? I haven't decided yet if I want to tackle something like this. Assuming I decide to take the plunge, anyone have suggestions?

If that hot mess on a wall is what she wants, I suggest she learns to quilt. lol

I would do it the same way I do photos. Enlarge the color picture of it that you will be using, then cover it with a piece of clear plastic and trace it with a sharpie. With a piece of paper behind the plastic you can have it enlarged to the size you want and that will be your pattern. I trace each piece onto fusible, fuse to the fabric, cut out and assemble onto the background. Now you are ready to stitch. It takes some time and patience, but taken step by step it is possible.

I don't have a sister but if my brother asked for something special like that I would definitely do it.

I remember a site on the Internet where you can upload a piciture and the program will turn it into a quilt pattern. I just googled make your p hoto into a quilt and got several results. One is Victoria and Albert Museum. You might try that if you think you want to do it.

Or maybe I am nice enough to not attempt it! Good luck. What a project.

I think it would be great! But if you can't do it then give her Sean Carroll's new book [h=1]The Particle at the End of the Universe:
How the Hunt for the Higgs Boson Leads Us to the Edge of a New World
[/h]That's what DH is getting for Christmas! I think making the quilt would be great fun! I know the final rendition would be "different" than the original, but would you have to get the author's permission to do your version?
