Got 1 and 1/2 yds of care bears, and 1 yard of each of others. Want to make a baby boy quilt as I have a grandson on the way-Yippee! Any pattern suggestions? Thanks in advance. Ya'll are always so helpful!

Check out Quilterscache.com and look up autumn tints 2. It is a 4patch with a larger oppositional block that would be great for the carebears.

Here's what I did with Winnie the Pooh:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-78371-1.htm (scroll down to 3rd quilt) Simple 4 1/2" squares (4" finished) & 1 large fussy cut 8 1/2" square (8" finished) for the center. This design is called "Baby Chenille". It calls for 8 different fabrics. I used the print for 1 and chose 7 others using the colors of the balloons. The pattern uses a border of chenille fabric, though I used fleece for this quilt. It is assembled "envelope style" (inside out) so no binding to sew. |
I'm working on a quilt right now, and I have most of it done, just waiting to find out if it's a boy or girl. I'm hoping for girl, because I know exactly what I will finish it up as. But if it's a boy, I have to go a different direction. So I'll be watching this post to help me too.

I believe all of these would be adorable!

How about a tossed 9 patch. I just made my 2 mo. old nephew one and it is beautiful!

Do a pinwheel with your solids on a light background and alternate with plain block of the care bear fabric.
Pinwheels just say "baby quilt" to me without being either feminine or masculine. |
That would make a great Warm Wishes quilt.

True, that's a great suggestion!

I was thinking Warm Wishes, too; but I really like the pinwheel idea!
