Please ... Show me the block?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi! :) A young lady asked me to make this quilt for her, but I can't figure out the block. I sometimes use Paint on my pc to draw the lines of the blocks on the picture - that is, if I can see it .... but I can't 'see' this one. My first thought was Turning 20, but I can't see the repeat, or the 90 degree flip. Can any of you please show me where the block(s) begin? Thanks in advance! calano1

I don't think it's made of any specific block. It's more of the crazy quilt category
where rectangles and squares are sewn together. It seems like some squares are just sewn over with a decorative stitch. |
I don't see any block either. Find a quilt pattern that is similar and show it to your friend. I'll bet she is attracted to the embroidery and the color. I think if you did the Turning Twenty in those colors and fabric and had embroidered blocks she would be happy.

Here's a teal and brown Turning Twenty. http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/teal...ty-queen-quilt

When I look at this photo, I am wondering if it is not printed material made to look like a quilt.?
The "seams" do not seem to have the definition that they normally would. Happy quilting, Susan |
I do not see a pattern either.

I would think the colors and fabric design are what your friend is liking about this quilt and any chopped big square pattern would probably please her.

IF it were individual blocks (not a cheater fabric), it would entail lots of square and rectangle blocks with many set in seams.
Good Luck! Nan |
Ask the young lady where she saw the quilt, was it 'store bought' or made by a quilter. It looks like it might have some embroidery in it - based on the M and the angels, but I guess that could be part of the fabric, too.
