I don't know either but the first one is my choice too!

I like them going the same way...I think it looks more cohesive and allows the colors to be viewed more harmoniously. IMHO.

when I did mine I started with a square and worked in both directions (like the table runner that many on here have done) that way I had points going up and down .

liked the table runner too, but isn't that a "french braid"?. All: Thanks for the inputs I've rearranged so many times, same way, opposite way, with sashing, w/o sashing. I'm going to lay it on the spare bed and come back to it next week  Maybe that might help a little too. Again, many thanks, it's great to get other opinions, especially when you're stuck and quilting alone :). |
LOL I guess mine is French braid.

No quilt police here. Do it whatever way suits you. I like the first on.

I've seen them both ways. I like the first one best. Another thing I've seen done is a narrow border between the rows - maybe 1-1/2" or so. I think if you do that you might want to audition some colors to see what works best. Keep us posted on your progress! :D

It's your quilt. You can do it any way you want. I don't think the quilt police are going to come knocking on your door because you want to alternate the braids. LOL
It looks wonderful either way. :D :D :D |
