I spoke with a woman the other day and she told me that she was a quilt master. Didn't get a chance to ask her what that means. How does a person become a quilt master?

Very good question, I'd like to know this also. I been piecing and quilting for 26 yrs and still don't consider myself a master. Always learning something new. ;-)

I know another board member who dealt with a master quilter and her long arm service and was very disappointed. I think people give themselves these titles in order to gain respect from newbies. Just my opinion

I'm not 100 percent sure , i thought it had something to do with winning so many awards or recognition or being nominated by a quilter society??

You can become a "Master Quilter" thru NQA . It is extremely hard to make a quilt that is "Master" quality.

Perhaps she said guild master which I would think was an officer in her local guild. Otherwise it would be a title bestowed by the IQS or AQS for teacher, ribbons won or maybe even one of the white glove people.
