*I* like it. It's one of the few magazines I have kept my subscription to. The original poster asked for opinions. I gave my opinion. I'm not questioning anybody else's taste in magazines. It makes no difference what the magazine was 20 years ago. You can't subscribe to the magazine 20 years ago. You can only subscribe to today's magazine. |
I took it for the last 3 years but I'm not going to renew it. I prefer the other magazines with mostly patterns.

I simply think the magazine is not worth its subscription price today. This is my opinion, and not meant to be insulting to anyone who has a different opinion of the magazine.

I have subscribed to QNM for many years and I really enjoy the magazine. Someone also gave me all the QNM ever published, lacking just 1 or 2 that were not included. They did overlap when I started by a year or two so I put those into my guild's quilt show boutique and sold the extras there. If I were to have only one magazine this would be the one.

QNM is generally aimed to the professional or business-of-quilting community, those who keep up with quilting around the world and the movers-and-shakers in the industry, with articles that are quilting oriented without being just about sewing/quilting/patterns/color.
I've always preferred that orientation, personally, and still enjoy QNM and The American Quilter from AQS. In my opinion, no, it is not *particularly* for the quick-simple-quilt-in-a-week(end), doesn't-attend-seminars-conventions-national quilt shows, kind of quilter. There are a ton of quilting magazines published that do reach this largest segment of quilters Jan in VA |
they always seem to have a **WOW** quilt on the cover.

I got it for years

I have been subscribing to QN for about 15 years, since I started quilting. The magazine has been through a lot of changes, some good, some bad...but it is the only quilting magazine I have continuously subscribed to. It really isn't devoted to patterns, but I design my own anyway. I just enjoy reading it.

I'm with Prism. QNM used to be the best of it's kind. I wouldn't even buy an issue anymore and I subscribed for many many years.
