I think a gift to you from you for coming through the trauma of a divorce is a lovely idea. Make yourself a new happy new life comforter. Look after yourself hun xx

I would love a new sewing table/station, but we just finished building a second garage...so, I will have to put that on next year's list. In the meantime, a gift certificate to my LQS will be great. I'm going to the quilt festival in Houston next week, so that's kinda like an early Christmas for me!

Someone posted on the board this week about loving their rotating cutting mat, and there were lots of others who agreed, so I suggested that as a possibility to him. I also suggested a gift certificate to Craftsy.com or possibly to FatQuarterShop.com or Connecting Threads. I like to give him lots of different ideas so he can still surprise me. :)

Just a little info re Shingles vaccine. I had Shingles in Sept. 2009. In Oct. 2011, I had the vaccine. In Sept. 2012, I had Shingles again. The only good thing about the vaccine is that 'if' you get the Shingles after having the vaccine, it won't be as bad as if you had not had the vaccine. My DH had the vaccine in 2009 after I came down with Shingles and has not had a case. And, yes stress does play a roll in the eruptions. Jinnie

GagaSmith, you have the right idea about the shingles vaccination. My brother didn't get the vaccination and had sure enough, shingles showed up on the top of his head and in his eye! There was a worry that he might lose sight in that eye. And the pain was excruciating. So the vaccination is a good thing.

We are thinking of having the recliner reupholstered. It would be much less to buy a new one, but this is a Thomas Kincaid and oh, so comfortable!

Last year I asked for a gift certificate to my LQS. I got a larger certificate than I expected - it paid for a long arm class and 2 extra hours using the shop's long arm! I will ask for LQS certificates again this year, but I would really like to have a vintage Singer 301! (Seriously doubt I get that.) But, as always, I am grateful for whatever I receive!

I think that is a great idea. Since my divorce 33 years ago, I buy myself the nicest presents -- I never have to return anything and the colors are always perfect.

I'm thinking maybe an Ottlite floor lamp that could be used for either hand work or next to my machine.

I just bought a small rotating mat set at Joann's when I had that 30% entire purchase last week. It handles 7" blocks and came with the 18mm rotary cutter, 2-1/2" square ruler and a 1" x 6" ruler. It was $26.99 then 40% off sale, then 30% off that with that coupon. So this little set ended up costing around $11.

I used that mat yesterday and love it !! So, I think I'll put the larger one on my Christmas list. He asked me about mine just the other day too...
