I was just thinking today about making a Name Tag for the members of our local Quilt Group & so started wondering if any of you clever ladies out there have done so too. Did you make them as a group activity or competition .. do tell. :)

Our group is small , 7 ladies, so we dont need them, but when i belonged to a bigger guild, we all made our own,was great to be able to put a name to the face. Also, if you wore your name tag, you got a ticket toward a fq drawing each month.

One guild that I've visited, everyone makes their own name tags and there is quite a variety of cool ones. Another that I've looked into provides a kit for you to make your name tag when you first join.

both QG I belong to wear denim shirts enbroidered with guild name and my name...

It certainly makes it easier doesnt it than having that blank brain look when you know you just should know their name .. but can't remember!!
Name tages should almost be compulsory esp for a middle age lady with my own central heating pump :) By the time I get all my gear together to head out for the day, collapse in my chair & start stitching, then have to remember all those names.

I've just joined a guild (I was on the waiting list for 3 years - the guild caps its membership at 55) and the summer project is for everyone to design and make their own name tag. I have to get started on it because the name tag has to be ready and worn to the first meeting in September.

Do post a photo of your finished name tag when your'e done .. I'm sure there will be lots of lovely original tags - what a sweet idea to get everyone going for the summer

My guild hands out a pattern for the name tag when you join. We all use the same pattern, but no 2 name tags look the same.

Everyone in our quilt guild makes their own badge...usually a single small quilt block with their name on it in some way.

Well, that's certainly unusual....a waiting list to join a guild? Never heard of a guild limiting it's size.
