Find a copy of Quilt in a Day - Log Cabin...

Or use them for making up strip sets for a double irish chain.

Both are nice quilts..

Also, look into Strips 'n Curves by Louisa L. Smith. It's all about strip piecing. You'll need to get some larger pieces to go with your strips, but it's way cool!

but..

I finished a 60x60 quilt in three days over New Years, borrowing a sewing machine while on vacation.
I need to sew a binding on my daughters double irish chain queen size).
I need to finish the the border (sewing together some HSTs) for my Homeward Bound quilt (queen size).
Need to layer and quilt my original Yellow Brick Road that has been sitting around for 6 or 7 months.
Working on a quilt for my younger daughter. (Full size)
Starting a block a week program for Paper Pieced Stars (probably queen).
About three other quilts in various stages of planning. Materials bought for most of them. One, a Southwest Medallion quilt will be my big project for 2008.
Working 60 hours a week for the next month or so (tying up a major project)
etc. etc.

Not bad for 2007.

And you?

are they 2" or 2 1/2"?

here's the irish chain pattern/instructions. if you want to spend some $$ you could also look for the book 'still strippin' after all these years' (eleanor burns?) i've heard of it, but not looked through it yet.

I don't do Holiday motif stuff so I passed on that issue of McCalls. I think it's a great magazine though, it's where the Homeward Bound pattern came from (Oct 2006).The Christmas season does seem to take all the time out of our sails doesn't it?

Time to get back to work (tomorrow). I wonder if my desk is still there.

Debbie Caffrey has a few books for quilting from strips - "Open a Can of Worms" and "Noodle Soup" are two of hers.

Hi I have been in a strip club usibg 2 1/2 inch srtips for the past year and if you go to bighornquilts.com she posts free patterns on the 2 1/2 inch strips but would also work great on the 2 inch strips

I made my bargello quilt using two inch strips. It was one of my favorite projects.
