It partly depends on the size of quilts/blocks you work on the most.
When I do smaller than 8" blocks I tend to use my 8x8 or 9x9 rulers a lot and my 4x12 (I think) When I am doing larger projects I use my Big Momma which is 8x12 or my 8x24 and my 18x18 the most. I have plenty of rulers for special purposes but in the end it usually comes down to a few workhorses. |
I to have a small work space, so I find that 3x18, 6 and 12 in sq. are my go to rules

I have a Creative Grid 8.5x24.5. Since most of my cuts seem to be 6.5, I find the wider one works for everything. I also use the 12.5 square.

My indispensable rulers are my 3.5x18, shape cut, and 6.5x6.5. To me 6x24 just seems awkward. I have a 24x36 mat, but prefer to fold my fabric one more time and use the smaller rulers. Is anyone else like me?

3X18, 2.5 sq, and 12.5 sq., but very favorite is 6X24 fiskars with rotary built onto it, X-specially for cutting strips!
