Help! I am thinking about buying a new Bernina for myself but before I go to the store I want to know what the prices are so I don't look completely shocked when they tell me the prices, but I am unable to find any prices for Bernina sewing machines on line except for Ebay. Does anyone know of any websites that have prices?

In upstate Vermont, the Bernina 440 QE goes for $3,300.

It depends on what country you are in and, if in the U.S., what part of the country you are in. We pay more in the U.S. than many other countries. I don't know why, other than we WILL pay it.

Bernina will not allow their U.S. dealers to publish prices, except occasional special deals.

I am in the Pacific NW (U.S.) and just received a newsletter from a Bernina dealer advertising a special price on a package:
Artista 630E including a stitch regulator, walking foot for for $3199.

I didn't think any site would have prices on them because they want you to go to a local dealer.

Try looking on eBay to get an idea of prices. Also, if people here are willing to say what they paid for machines, that would help you.

My Janome Jem Platinum was $499 when I got it 4 years ago. They are now going for $439. Great little machine to take to class, very lightweight and it has 60 built in stitches.

I have a Janome Memory Craft 9000 that I bought when it first came out about 12 years ago. I paid top dollar for it then because it had just come out, but that machine sells for about $1000 brand new now, if you can find them. They've had a couple of other top of the line machines come out after the 9000, so they're getting harder to find.

I'm looking at a brand new Bernina 155 selling for $750.

That's a good price, hopefully that pricing will spread to the east coast

I think they wanted about $2800 for that machine in Tucson.

Definitely pricey, but I love love love my Bernina

Three years ago I bought a basic "patchwork edition" bernina for $1400. That included the walking foot, a must have for quilters, I think. I'm from central Iowa. Prices may vary over the US.

Have fun. :D
