snail's trail/rising star pattern
There were two pictures of gorgeous quilts that combined snail's trail and rising star blocks, both set on point, then surrounded by a star border. There was a book open on the table beside the picture. I have been through 2000 archived pictures and 10 pages of main topics. I cannot refind this quilt. I would like to find this pattern.
Thanks for your help. I can post the picture if that's allowed, but it's not my picture or my quilt. Maybe the author would recognize it? |
Post the pic and maybe someone can help.

I think the pattern you're searching for might be Shakespeare in the Park by Judy Martin from her book Creative Patterns book.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...rk-t58330.html or it might be this one? http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...lt-t91563.html |
Fons and Porter had a similar quilt - Jewel of the Prairie (I think that's the correct name). This was a few years ago.

Both of those are gorgeous and yes, the Shakespeare one looks like it. I knew you guys would know what I was talking about. Again, I hesitate to post the pictures because they are not mine. Not sure what the protocol is on that.

Amazingly (or maybe not so amazingly after all), the Jewel of the Prairie quilt is also by Judy Martin, although it appeared in Fons and Porter Love of Quilting Magazine. http://www.shopfonsandporter.com/pro...digital-issue/
Fay, it's fairly common for someone to copy a picture that they found on this board for the purpose of finding more information about the quilt. The moderators might have more to say on the subject. It's definitely not allowed to post pictures you find on other web sites though. |
Judy also has a pattern called Virginia Star Sampler. Its the same lay out as Shakespeare in the Park, but all the star blocks are different. Its in Knockout Blocks and Sampler Quilts book.

Judy Martin's book with this pattern was on clearance on her website, so of course I had to order it! Merry Christmas to me!

If you look at my avatar it may be what you want. It is Shakespere In The Park by Judy Martin. The pattern iis in her book The Creative Patten Book which is on her site on clearance. On her site she has many customer photos of SITP. Judymartin.com
