Some of the color spotted so here is what I did!
Made my SIL a beautiful pinwheel scrappy cuddle quilt! Well it is beautiful to me! The last step is to wash it, which I did and everything turned out beautiful except one spot bled though. About the size of a small apple. Just one. I used a color catcher and always have been happy with them. One spot, gee, so here is what I did. I took a heart applique and ironed it on the spot and stitched around it. Wrote on it 'made just for you'. While I was sewing on a quilt little strip Christmas quilt, I kepted thinking of that quilt and how it is not so perfect now. This poem came to me and I will place a nice old tag with the poem on it when I give it to her.
That is why she gets a quilt, she will love and appreciate all the work and that went in it! That is just her! "She's not a perfect quilt, she has a flaw or two. But when you need some warmth and love, She will be there for you! |
I should put that on all my quilts

I just love that little verse for the quilt, may have to use that one......
|
Hope you don't mind if I 'borrow' your little poem for my quilts.

That will be true for all my quilts. Our instructor told us we could never create anything 100% faultless and that the odd mistake or oops gives it character. She is definitely not a member of the Quilt Police.

I love that poem!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks for that cute little ditty. I will be "borrowing" it if you don't mind.

Any idea why when I click a subject, I get all the responses first, and have to scroll and scroll before the original comes up. And sometimes, it doesn't come up at all?
|
That poem would be a very appropriate addition to any of my quilts :-) Lotsa love, but talent, not so much! Great idea.

:thumbup::thumbup: May I borrow that cute verse? Really cute.:)

That reminds me of an 8 paneled skirt that I embroidered for a 9th grade home ec project. On the day of the fashion show, we were putting the skirt in the trunk of the car and the trunk wouldn't shut. I tried to shut it, but alas, it wouldn't. I tried harder. Then, I saw that the skirt was caught in the latch. Oh, I was heartbroken! There was a big grease spot right in the place where the trunk latch was.
My mom took it--told us to go on to school (about an hour away) and she would work on it. She did. She got most of the spot out and then did something over that one spot--I think she added embroidery. Because the panels were so fully embroidered, including a blanket stitch around each panel, no one ever noticed a single thing. But, great idea! Thanks for sharing. |
 Love the poem. Can't see the quilt. BrendaK

I copied your poem yesterday but apparently forgot to save it and I'd hate to tell you how much time I spent looking for this again last night -- I scanned all the topics for probably 90 minutes -- was so glad I found it again this morning -- thanks so much -- it is appropriate for many of my pieces!

Love the quote!

Ok, here is the post I promised. Pictures dont' do it justice I think. A couple of pics of my little fopa's, it really turned out nice. The backing to show my fopa's (heart & butterfly cover up). Last is how I wrapped it with left over binding that I tore. Added the tag and I love it!
