Need help yall. My vintage singer is sewing smooth as can be. BUt the stitches won't lock. I've tried several times to get the bobbin thread to swirl around when the needle thread comes down. But it just ain't gonna happen. THe needle thread just goes straight down and nothing else. Help please

Are you using a Singer needle?

What model are you using? Some machines thread the needle from front to back and others back to front.

What model do you have. Some models like the Featherweight and the 15 the needle flat side goes to the left (not the back of the machine) The needle is threaded from right to left or inside to the outside. Maybe this info will help.

Ok I got the thread to do what its supposed to. But it still won't stitch. Does that make sense.?? You know when ya have the fabric in it and start stitching?

I don't know what model but the numbers on the little plate on the front are G8464972 . Does that help?

We got that but if your needle is not positioned correctly, threaded in the right direction and the thread coming off the bobbin in the right direction it could cause this problem. What model machine do you have?

i had this happen and my problem was the bobbin, although i thought it was the correct bobbin for the model and fit in the case without any problems it would not stitch.

once i put in another bobbin it worked great.

What kind of bobbin do you use?
