Some vintage machines do not use standard sewing machine needles. I learned this when I worked for a sewing machine repair guy who wasn't always in the shop and he taught me afew things to look for to trouble shoot for customers

Lostn51,Billie told me to get bobbins and needles at Wal Mart, which I did. The package of bobbins says they are for Singer 66 models and the needles are size 15.
