Hi - here's my first hexagon project...just would like some ideas for finishing. I'm learning all kinds of things, so am willing to either hand quilt, fmq or straight line, but cant decide on the design part-LOL.
This a free pattern from Moda Bake Shop and is 26x46 inches thanks for any ideas |
I like!!!

Cute

I think you could stitch in the ditch.Start at one side sew to the other side.Connie in CO

Love this!
How fun! I would stitch in the ditch.
Really nice!
Very pretty! Maybe something curvy? :D:D:D
I agree, stitch in the ditch on the hexagon part. It is so beautiful that the linear quilting design would not take away from the over all hexagons and star pattern. In the floral border, I would maybe go with something like a half feather out from the turquoise strip? Lovely!
I would probably outline the blocks. It's really cute, I love the colors you chose.
I would stitch in the ditch too. Anything else will just detract from the pretty hexagons. Earlier today I saw a quilt here on the board that just had wavy lines (3 of them) stitched the length of the border. I really liked the way it looked. But I also like feathers. Depends on how much you have machine quilted.
I too like stitch in the ditch around the hexagons. I don't know about the border.
Stitch in the ditch. I agree. Beautiful. I love the bakeshop
Came out very pretty. I always FMQ and I think that the curved lines of a meander would offset the angles of the hexagons.
I think stitch in the ditch on the diagonal would be nice. Beautiful runner.
Beautiful, no idea how you should quilt it.
Very pretty. Love the colors.

Me too! Nice job.... |
Very pretty! I agree with SITD the hexes & something curvy in the border.
Stitch in the ditch and then I would do a red border! nicely done.
Very cute and I agree SID.
very nice!
Looks fabulous! Have fun quilting it in whatever design you choose.
Very cute!
Just adorable!
very pretty!
too cute!
personally, I'd quilt hearts or flowers in each of the hexies, and outline quilt about a 1/4" inside the triangles and maybe a loopy heart in the border.
I love it! |
This is very pretty and I am looking into quilting. Has scared me to try this venture, but have no problem sewing anything else. I think it's the fact of getting everything cut perfect as I don't like to mess up! LOL ~ I am sure whatever else you decide to do with your Sugar Cookies will be fab...
I like this!
Cute! I like the idea of SITD and if you have not (or will) bind it in red.
that is just adorable! good job. hand quilting would be sweet with pearl cotton.
Very pretty! Great Colors!
First I like it. Second I would do circles or curves since it is named sugar cookies! Have fun!
It's so beautiful!
Lovely. looks complicated.:)
Beautiful...I like everything about your runner.
This Quilt from Nannya54 is absolutely beautiful. I am one for darker colors and simpler styles. I love the deep burgandy's, hunter green, navy & browns along with a light shade as background...so pretty!
That is gorgeous! Please post another photo when you finish with whatever quilting you decide on ... we'd love to see it.
Very pretty. I would stitch in the ditch with something with curves in the outer border.
