I, too, did not know of this until today. I'd love to get my church ladies involved but we are committed to sewing for an event on Nocember 13th.

Please IM me privately about the 'stretcher' quilts. It is unfortunate but I'm sure soldiers will continue to be injured and transported. Not just for Christmas.

OH Jan, I live just 45 min. from Bedford and used to live there! Ms. Shawn :mrgreen:

I did not know about this but the two quilts I am making are for the sons of a soldier from KY. He is in the 101st airborne. His wife is expecting the 2nd boy in Jan. She also has cancer and a is going to college. She had cancer when she was pregnant with the first and had to have her thyroid removed. I would like to get into making quilts for our soldiers though.

Such great news! I'm very excited with you! So many people are happy to pitch in to make a difference for our soldiers!

I'm looking for Tina Mc from U-ville MO to thank her for the soldier quilt, backing fabric and 4 spools of thread she sent the Military Barracks Quilt Project! Please PM if you know her.
