No No No, Mary. If you can't get somewhere to get sm oil, you can use Hoppe's Gun Oil if hubby has some. And do not use 3-1 oil, either. Or send me your snail mail addy and I'll send you a bottle.

Singer sewing machine oil and only use oil designed for a sewing machines

It doesn't have to be Singer, but it MUST say SEWING MACHINE oil. Anything else will gum up your machine.

normally walmart carries sewing maching oil; don't use anything else. Make sure your machine needs it though. I have a Kenmore/Janome computerized and it says dont oil it but My singer and vikings get oil; so check your owners manual or on line if you don't have one.

Don't use WD-40 to oil it is used for cleaning gunked up oil on machinery. It really isn't used for oiling a sewing machine just cleaning it then oil it.
