This looks to be perfect for those beautiful pieces.

I recommend the 10 minute block with a black center and black sashing. That would look amazing!

Thanks, detective, for finding this for me. It's just wonderful that everyone on this board is so willing to help others! I love this pattern.

I Haven't had time to read all the replies, but my thought is why not go to the designer for ideas?
http://www.paulanadelstern.com/quilt-gallery/index.html The above takes you to Paula's quilt gallery. Search there for ideas....and she does cut these up. I'd use them in pinwheels or flying geese type blocks, black would be my background fabric...or the red or blue from the fabrics. I'm not big on yellow or apple green...but these with black sashings...wow!

HELP! I love this layer cake I got on sale! But.... what to do with it??? Most I have two of each piece, a few only one. I definitely need a solid black somewhere. Any suggestions on what kinda pattern I could go with? I think something kinda funky since the fabric is a lot funky! :p

That is some WILD fabric! You could make snowball blocks, with black for the corners.

On second thought-----------the DeNovo pattern is just perfect for your pieces. And the black sashing is also perfect.

Your son's art is beautiful.

just realized, the DeNovo is like the turning twenty pattern, but with sashing. Great pattern. And should sew up pretty quick.

I would the 10" block pattern for sure.....only 3 seams per block and no cutting. The fabric is too pretty to cut up. I used this pattern and loved it and it sewed up pretty quick. Google Suzanne McNeil 10" squares and there will be a tut.
