I hang mine on a hanger with the cardboard insert from a paper towel on the hanger.

I have a shelf dedicated to "need to be quilted" quilts. I also store things in my big suitcases (I've quit using them for traveling--too big and too heavy) but they work well to store quilts in. I also have storage bags under the bed.

My husband built a quilt rack for my unfinished quilts. It is A-shaped, similar to a step ladder and is about 6 feet tall and 36 inches wide, with dowels for hanging quilt tops waiting to be quilted. It was custom made to fit a particular corner of my sewing room.

I always seem to have several that are waiting for the quilting process (not my favorite part of doing a quilt). I have them folded and placed in a very large plastic storage tub from Target. With the lid on it, I dont have the problem of my " critters" trying to take a nap on top of them.

I stack them up until I can quilt them. Seems like I always have a big stack.

I like this idea!

Usually just folded up on the shelf, but I'm going to go for hanging them instead from now on. Really like the idea... less ironing! :?

During the holidays I organized my Mother's quilt closet. She had 41 quilt tops. We indexed them and stored them in pillow cases. Some had the backing purchased so we put that with the top. She just purchased a long arm quilting machine, so hopefully the quilting will go faster as the floor frame went under the bed to make room for it.

Mine hang over the bannister. My kids have learned NOT to trail their hands through them as they go upstairs - some are pin basted already - it's a good deterrent!

I hang mine on a hanger with the binding. I put the binding in a zip-top bag and put a hole in it and hang it on the hanger. That way I'm not searching for binding.
