Most of mine are Orime(?) And I have to replace my 36 by 5 1/2 brok in the middle last night.

As long as it has numbers on it that are the CORRECT distance apart, and a straight edge, its cheap/I have a coupon. I will use it!
No really I have several different brands, all on the lower end, and have never had one break. |
Mine are Optima or Omnigrid.
I've broken a couple...when they hit the tile.  |
Mine are different brands. I have bought them all on sale or at a garage sale or flea market. Im cheap. I have never had any problem with any of them but I have one that doesn't seem to be as straight anymore.

I have lots of rulers. The ones I use a lot, I have two of, one for my sewing room and one packed in my workshop/class tote. I don't care what brand it is, if I need it for a project, I buy it.

I go back a long way and love Omnigrid. Have tried one or two others but go back to my Omni. I have one black lined one that has long grips on it but never really used it much but it doesn't slide. I don't like those little stickers on the Omnigrid as I find that they sometimes will pull the fabric out of whack.

I have a bunch of them, and my favorites are the Omnigrids with the black and yellow lines. I like the 6x24 for beginning, and then the 12 1/2" square and then the 3X24 and then others. I use those three the most.
And I agree about the textured backs - they don't slide. They pull the fabric around! |
Well....she asked "what rules""".....I don't use any!
Ok...so if you mean what rulers, then I use a mix of them all, but I prefer the Omni...start with the 6 x 24, then move to the 6 x 6 for squaring HST's and such. I square larger blocks with the 12 1/2 x 12 1/2. I put that stuff on the back of each one to keep them from sliding around and it works great! |
I'm another one who prefers Omnigrids with the black and yellow lines.

I have so many different ones, but I seem to gravitate toward the ones, that 'fit' for the size project I am working on.
I especially like my T square for corners, my 12.5 omnigrid for squaring up blocks. But my #1 RULE lol...is: whatever ruler I start with, I keep using, bc different rulers can make you mark differently. Difference in thicknessess etc. making your marks closer or further away, even if you lay them on top of each other and make sure they 'measure' the same. Don't mix them up...if you like accuracy! |
