Hi, I know what you mean about the machine requiring attention. There are wonderful designs out there but often they require multiple changes in thread sometimes to only do a few stitches like the eyes on something. I solved that problem for the most part when I discovered varigated thread. For things like floral designs it works well and you don't have to keep changing the thread. I now have a collection of different varigated threads almost as large as my general stash.

Love your embroidery blocks. Beautiful!

I have the Bernina 830 with all the hoops. I've had her 2 1/2 years and took one class on embroidery. I've never tried it. I can't remember how. I know you have to measure the size by touching the needle to the outside points, but that is all I remember. My dealer is 1 1/2 hours away, but my son just moved across the river from them, so I think I'll be more inclined to take some lessons. I sure hope so after reading what all you can do with embroidery!

You can do loads-I have embroidered designs inside blocks, teatowels and towels, even onwallhangings and quilts and clothes. There are some great ideas for projects on www.emblibrary.com

The possibilities are endless. I have done lots of things. You might want to check out Embroidery Library for designs. Their items are not expensive and they stitch out nicely. My latest projects are the plastic photo holders that stand by themselves. I do a nice sized embroidery, border it with fabric and make it into a sleeve to just slip over the holder. They are nice for desks and counter tops. I have about 6 out there for family. I am trying to make new ones for all the different seasons and holidays.

Absolutely love your quilt. Are the designs from Loralie? It is so wonderful and love the batik fabric as well!
