Hi all,
I'm working on a Disappearing 9 patch. Have been tempted to buy a larger ruler to square up my blocks but am wondering how much use I'd get out of it. Thanks, lots2do |
Hi, lots. Mine is 12 1/2".
I have a 16 1/2" Creative Grids Square ruler. That's the biggest with measuring lines. I have larger size square rulers from 17 to 22 that I had the local glass shop cut for me. No lines but I drew an X from corner to corner.
12.5 and I couldn't do without it.
I bought 8.5 and am SO sorry I didn't get 12.5!

I have a 12 1/2" but I am going to have several others cut up to 24 1/2" :D:D:D
12.5
20 inch. i got it at Joann's online with a coupon. it has the measurements for side triangles and corner triangles if doing an on point lay out too.
I have seen a 24". Can't remember who made it. You could Google and look for it.
My largest square ruler is 15". Now that I see nativetexan found a 20" one at Joann's--I'll have to find that! The large ones are better for squaring up corners of quilts. Hubby gets upset when I use his carpenter's squares.
I only have a 6.5" but what I *DO* need is a larger cutting mat. The 12x18 works good for most jobs...but then you get to the 12.5" blocks and you're in a pickle...
12.5
16 1/2, 12 1/2, 6 1/2 and 3 1/2.
15 &1/2 is my largest one
15" is my largest.
20.5" Creative Grids.
It's not one I use often, but when I need it I'm thrilled that I went ahead and got it. |
The square ruler can be a real time saver. I'm now using a 12.5" one for squaring some blocks. I also have the new 12.5" from Omnigrid. It is awesome. Not sure how I will use it but would be good for cutting fat quarters.

It's an Omnigrip 20.5 I bought it for my friend (because I wanted to be able to borrow it) She gave up quilting and gave it back to me along with her stash!!!

With regards to the question, my largest right now is 12.5" but at some point I will pick up a few that are larger as I have some projects where they would be very useful to have. Explosive blessings, abundance and inspiration to you all! - The Creative Seamstress |
12 1/2" is my largest square ruler. I use it all the time.

I just got that set of 4 Omnigrid squares that the Creative Seamstress described, for about $17 on sale. Until now, I had a 4" and 15 or 16" square plus a 6x12" and 6.5x24" ruler.
Omni grip 20.5".
12 1/2"
My biggest is 12.5 and it looks huge to me!
I have the 6 1/2" and I think the large one is 15" but I wish I had the 12 1/2" - That one comes in handy for most swaps. The larger one is a bit awkward at times.
16.5 is my largest
My largest is 16 1/2"
My
largest one is a 20 by creative Grids. |
I bought a 20 x 20 ruler to use when cutting blocks over 6 in. My ususal cutting ruler is 6 x 15. The larger size works really well. It may seem expensive but use your Joann's coupon. It is well worth the money!
Thanks, think I'll spring for the biggest one I can find at Joann's (with a coupon, of course). :)
