Do you use white muslin or just a white material, such as moda or kona? Just curious. I'm referring to the background.

My preference is Kona. Kona anytime I need solid fabric except for wallhangings.

I like to use white on white.

My mother used nothing but white for borders and sashing so I've sworn that I never will (You'll find a lot of what I do in quilting consists of rejecting whatever it is my mother did:)) When a pattern calls for white, I love love love white fabric with a white screen print on it. It gives it a nice texture and keeps it from looking boring, but it's subtle enough to relegate itself to the background and let the colored peices shine. For the quilt in my pic, I used an ivory with a white screenprint.

I use any white I feel like at the time. Sometimes it's muslin and sometimes it's white on white. Really just depends on what I'm doing with it.

I like Kona. I like a tone on tone pattern.

I use Kona Snow. I buy it by the bolt from Hancock's of Paducah. It isn't as bright as regular white and its not an off white. Just a color of its own! If I use muslin in a quilt, I use Moda muslin which I buy by the bolt also! I also buy Kona black by the bolt! I guess I'm boring!

White screen print on white. I like to mix the screen prints as well for different texture.
