I saw a janome 6600 yesterday, and am smitten with it. Does anyone have this machine, and what do you think of it? Does $1500 including tabe sound like a good price. Let me know before the shop opens at 10:00 central time. Thanks. Sherry Mcd

That's an excellent price! I paid 1600 for just the machine last week.

This is a seriously awesome machine. I made shopping bags from old jeans and it sewed thru multiple layers of jean fabric with not even a hint of a problem!

I'm looking forward to being able to straight line quilt and free motion quilt with it too.

I bought extra feet and the light tension bobbin case and extra bobbins for mine from http://brubakerssewing.com/ since my local dealer doesn't carry any of these things.

I paid $1500 for mine w/o table, 5 years ago, and have never had to take it to the shop. Works as well as the day I bought it. I sew and quilt with it everyday. I love my machine.

absolutely LOVE it

I paid about $1400 for mine with the table. I don't use the table because mine is now in a cabinet.....It is a great machine. I have sewn both quilting fabric and upholstery on it and it goes through upholstery like butter!!

By the table, I assume you mean the extension table. Is that correct? Mine was included in the price.

I have had mine about two years now and absolutely love it. I paid about $13-1400.00 I think on sale.

Have used most of the feet which are included.

You cannot use just any bobbin in it. Get some from your dealer and then you can buy them off e-bay especially for your machine in bulk. I keep at least four bobbins filled of the same color at all times. The bobbin winder is a dream to use.

Make sure you get your manual and have at least one lesson from your dealer so you aren't stumbling around with it. That should also be included in the price. A good dealer is a must.

I refer to manual so often that I will need to make copies and put in a notebook before it wears out.

I put my machine on a good surge protector. We have alot of small outages here and I did not want to lose my machine to one.

Remember not to put anything magnetic on or near teh machine including pin holders. Since it is computerized, this could really mess with the machines 'brain'.

Hope you get to buy one.

This is a good machine but I'd wait a little while longer and have a look at the new Janome Horizon (throat space 11") that is coming out later this spring. There are already pictures and details on the Internet but no price yet that I can see. It's definately a machine that I want to test drive. You can put queen size quilts through the Janome 6600 but the Horizon will make it a lot easier. It really depends on what you expect or need in a sewing machine.
