Which would you choose?

I am working on the Tradewinds pattern and can't decide which batik to use as the "background". I think I like them both, but don't want to start cutting till I'm sure. Which would you choose?

I like #1. Either would be fabulous!
I like 1. I think it blends better with the fabrics.
#1 matches the warmth of the other fabrics. #2 is a cool fabric.
Both are pretty, I really like 1 best.
For me the first one is much more pleasing to the eye with the combination of your fabrics so 1 vote for #1.
Should add.....the other fabrics contrast with #2 and your pattern pops up due to this. Both would work based on what you want to accomplish.
I have surprised myself by actually preferring the second one. I really like the first one, it's very warm and tones down your batiks, but something about that cool white fabric in number two really makes your batiks "pop"!
I don't think you can go wrong either way. Both are gorgeous! If warm is what you're going for then number one. If you really want to make the batiks stand out and shine, then number two gets the job done beautifully. :) |
#1 is more restful. #2 has more pop. Personally, I like the look of #1.
I like the warmer color. Not the white. It blends really well.
#1 is warmer to me. I would choose it.
Here is another one for the cool blue number 2. It makes the pattern pop. I do not like the yellowness of one, the pattern and how blended it is with the other fabrics.
By the way both are good options. It all depends what you are trying to achieve. |
I like quilts that pop. That being said I like #2 the blue. The first block is very muted. I guess you will have to decide if you want the batiks to pop or just melt into each other
I'd go with #1. For me, #2 is too icey for the tropical looking batiks.
I do like both fabrics, but the white makes your batiks stand out.
Another vote for 2!
#1 is my vote.
I like the yellow because it is warm and goes with the other fabrics.
i like #1 best
I like #2 best. It looks so refreshing, and maybe cuz my favorite color is blue?
They are both very nice tho, tough decision . . . |
Whew, that is a tough one but I think I would choose the second one.
#1 is calming,#2 makes the colors pop. I like #1 best.

I like #1. It is going to be very pretty.
I really like #2. But either way your block is beautiful.
The white looks too stark against the warm colors of the fabrics. I love the look of the first one. They colors all work very well together.
The first one looks the best to me.
I think the creamy one would be best but either would be amazing.
You have gorgeous fabrics so cannot go wrong, both contrast. My personal choice is #1
I like #2 it gives more of a pop.
I am in love with Number 1.
No. 2 - White
I like #1 but you have to choose
Well, I like both, and you sure have had a lot of votes go for one or the other. I am just curious...which one did you choose??? :)
Dina |
I like both the fabrics..but I do like number 2 the best.
#1 makes the block look richer.
The first goes so well with the other colors. It seems to support them
Like almost everyone else ... I like the beige (#1) best. It is warmer and works better with the fabric. Your quilt is going to be gorgeous!
#1 for me.
Have you already decided on a border? If so, put both blocks up against it and look at them again. Do you prefer warm or cool look?
