Don't belong in the same room together.
My one year old "puppy" who LOVES to chew everything but her toys, chewed on my sewing machine cord (while I was sewing)!!!
Luckily she wasn't hurt, but did yelp and then my power on the machine went out!

Well, that project won't be completed for awhile. I will have to see if an electrician can cut off the bad part and wire the electric socket back on. OR I will have to order a new cord = 10 year old Bernina so not sure I will be able to find a new one.

Poor puppy! Poor Bernina! Thank goodness it was just a yelp. I hope you can get a new cord, or at least have that one fixed.

I feel for you! Puppy needs some love, though. What kind is she?

Maybe after you get the cord fixed you could wrap it in tin foil. I've found the animals don't like chewing that... and it would be a deterrant. It's hard to watch the puppy and what you're sewing at the same time.

Rub a little menthol on the cord. Dogs really hate that!!

Ebay is a great place to find ancient sewing machine parts. Also here is a website for an E parts store. This guy can find anything. Good luck.

I had a puppy do this also. My husband fixed it with an electrical kit. It was actually a very easy fix. The only thing was my cord was a little shorter.

I'm sure you will be able to get a cord for your Bernina...recently, I needed a part for my 20+year old Bernina and was able to pick it up at my dealer...
As for the puppy...get some Bitter Lime spray at the pet store...it stopped Tink from doing the same thing.

My yellow lab did that to my laptop plug a couple of years ago. After DH fixed it, I just kept the cord off the floor and over a chair so she couldn't get at it again.
