Does anyone belong to this website and do you find it useful? If you've been quilting a long time and surfing the web a lot do you find it just more of the same????
Thanx for your input.

I'm a charter member. I find the site to be very useful to me. I can watch many of the older quilt shows from Fons and Porter, Quilt in Day and others. Lots of new how to videos and interviews. Machine quilting videos, quilt shop videos, just a lot of great quilty stuff.

I signed up this year on a $12 sale day. It's OK. There are more Quilt in a Day videos free on their website than on QNN. Some of the Fons and Porter things are OK, but I guess their personalities just don't grab me as much as Elenor Burns or Jenny Doan.
Most of the machine quilting videos I have seen are for long arms which I don't have. I'm hoping to find some on there for a domestic machine.
All in all, I'd say if you get it on a $12 sale day, it's worth a try. You can't do much for $12 a year so there isn't much to loose.

I hadn't renewed my mbrshp in 2011 but did recently with the sale. Now I remember why I didn't renew!! I have trouble viewing their videos.....I think their help/support is terrible. They have some FAQS but it's weird...there's a list of topics at the top but, as in other sites, you can't click on one in the list and be taken down to that topic...you have to go down the whole list to find what you want. In the video faq, they say to click on the HELP link on the top right of the pages....not there!!! There's a Support/Contact link but you don't get much that way either. No phone to connect (I guess I've gotten spoiled with Amazon), can only email them. I did, will be interesting to see how long it takes for a reply and what they say....I was not happy in my email!
At first the video window was grey; they said to update Adobe Flash, which I did....then the video window was BLACK and no buffering. I used to try to watch F&P videos and had trouble with them too. Another thing, I like to save videos to my computer to watch later when I need/want them....can't do that here or on F&P or the Quilt Show. I understand, I guess, but with so many free videos on the web, I don't think theirs are that much better.
When F&P published Jenny's new magazine/book, I thought "Oh boy! I hope they don't rope her in to put her videos on their sites so we have to pay for them!" I've subscribed to F&P for years but recently have begun to lose interest. I don't like the LoQ mag as much anymore, and their PBS videos have so much about longarm quilting which is not helpful to me. I do miss Simply Quilts....I thought her programs were very helpful (but I'm not about to renew mbrship there....just didn't use it enough)...I saved most of them on video so at least I have those. I think that F&P overdoes the pushing too...I get emails every day or more and then there are the cd's they send you unasked for and want you to pay for them.
Well, I guess I've complained enough....I guess this is just a grumpy week!! Sorry! I'll be better later (hopefully!)!

Polly. If you are grumpy..so am I.. I'm surprised at the F&P emails for the 'best deal in my life'..I subscribed to one of their Mag. and now can't get rid of them.. I am starting to unsubscribe on some of this stuff... Once you give to any charity..it's the same thing...It's really too bad....

Maxnme01, I want to apologize for my tirade. I hope that others will tell you of their experience with qnn as mine, I'm sure, is not typical. They do have a LOT of videos that look interesting and you may not have a negative experience there at all. I hope my negativity won't dampen your interest or enthusiasm!

I loved it the first year. then with the teckincal ? difficulties and as fast as I watched what interested me I couldn't find anything that was worth the trouble to watch. I get more out of you tube. I won't be doing it again for several years.

POLLYTINK don't apologize, I've been on that soap box before. I appreciate the input, that's what I asked for. Thanx
Thanks everyone for your input! I think I'll pass....you seem to have echoed what I thought was the case.

I haven't had any problems viewing the videos. I belong to most all paid quilting sites. The yearly cost for all is less then a one quilt workshop with a popular instructor and I have access to most anything quilty at any time.
