I have a friend that I am going to be making a quilt for. He is an older man and lives in a cabin in the woods. He loves pastels and is a doctor. I need some suggestions for patterns.

Any Ideas????

A simple Log cabin. Very traditional and easy to do.

A log cabin quilt would be beautiful! I was thinking in shades of green or blue. Or just a 9-patch with whimsical "doctor-nurse" fabric would be fun for a throw.

i like the idea of log cabin in the blues and greens. Your center square of the log cabin could be fussy cut pictures of doctors!

The blues and greens in a log cabin sound good or you could do a disappearing nine patch.

I veto the doctor-medical related fabric --if he is in a cabin in the woods he is probably trying to get away from it all. :) :) :)

I suggest "Just Can't Cut It" pattern using a outdoorsy print. It's a quick & easy pattern.

I am going with no doctor-medical fabrics. Anything else... okay... without know the person. I figure he might be tired of medical things.
