My friend has an embroidered quilt top from her great- grandmother, she would like to know at which point to put on beads?

I have never done any embellishing, so any help would be appreciated. Although logic says before she puts it together to quilt, still thought it best to ask.

Beading will need extra caution while quilting. So, keep that in mind. Longarmers hate doo-dads and beads. It's very easy to break needles and throw off the timing on your machine. Most people add iron on crystals and beading AFTER the quilting to avoid these problems.

After it is all finished... then the embellishments don't hang up on your sewing machine feet, or get in the way of any hand sewing of the binding :D:D:D

I would think the beading would make it a lot heavier and more awkward to quilt. I'd be tempted to do it last.
