Can you mix batiks with regular cotton fabric? Granddaughter wants a horse quilt and I would like to use both kinds - does it make it harder to quilt - will have it done bya longarmer.
Thanks!

I do it all the time and I've never had a problem doing the quilting.
I just did it on a pp'd block. I've done it several times and never had a problem, it's all 100% cotton. It quilts just fine as well. Good luck!
No problem at all..
Hi beachlady! :D
I just finished a quilt with a border that was a batik (inner border). I had a long arm quilter do it and it was fine. I wondered about the mix when I was shopping for the fabrics and the ladies at the quilt shops assured me that mixing both was fine.

I have mixed them before and haven't had any problem machine quilting them.

I used batik & 100% cotton when I made a Foundation Pieced cushion cover, it still needs to be finished  however it caused me no problems mixing the two fabrics.

I mix them all the time. I am also working on a top right now with Kona Bay Fabulous florals and batik.
