Hi everyone- Yesterday I got out a project that I started a few years ago using fusible batting and quilt as you go. I remember not liking that type of batt but want to finish the quilt.
My question- the batting looks so thin and flat once it's pressed to the fabric. Will it plump at all after washing the quilt??
Another question- I don't have enough left for the borders. Any ideas what would match it?? I don't want to buy fusible anymore.
    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi there,

just noticed this one. I have only used fusible batting on smaller wall hangings or purses ... maybe there is an increased cost???

I like to be consistent so I'd use the same type batting on the borders. Sorry for the bad news. I guess you could try to match it in weight with other batting just not sure how you would like it.

Let us know what you do and how you like it, please.

I've been lurking and waiting, too. Just curious, never used it.

i have used fusable batting a couple times, really don't like it. it's ok for purses/totes i guess and probably wall hangings. yes it will (plump-up) a little bit when it is washed. i do not know if there are a lot of different fusable batts but the one i used was about the same weight/density as dream poly, or hobbs select 80/20. i would think that it would be fine to use something different in the borders. i have successfully used 2 and 3 different battings in the same project. you only have to watch for washing and quilting requirements (as in does it have to be quilted every 2" or every 10" and is one cold water only, ect. as long as the properties work together it will not be a problem.

I cant answer yet as I just bought it myself. Foosiboo. I am going to use it on a wallhanging so I dont care if it plumps. I am interested to see how it works.

When it first came out everyone seemed excited, including me, but it seemed to fizzle (at least with my friends) and I hardly ever hear about it.
Thanks a lot ckcowl for that info. I really didn't want to have to buy more :)
    Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
