Default Question for EQ users

Where do you get your fabric pictures from?

I think you can buy pictures of current collections (from some manufacturers)... but do you ever just go onto the manufacturers' sites and download your own (free) pictures to use in EQ?

Do you worry about whether the scale of the pictures is the same, if you are gathering them from various sources?

Many of the manufacturer's sites have free downloads specifically for EQ. EQ also has a new free fabric download each month, to add to your collection.

If you add your own fabric to EQ, you may have to do some fiddling to get the scale right. I don't care so much about the exact fabric pattern, it is the color(s) of the fabric that is more useful to me

I don't know how to use my EQ. But I do download fabric into my picture file occasionally, from the mfgr's website.

I download swatches from all the manufacturers that provide them. When I'm making a quilt in EQ, I try to use the exact fabric, but that's not always possible and I use a swatch that is the same overall color and value.

Scale is usually problematic only for focal prints, where I'm trying to put in fussy cuts, but it can also affect how the swatch looks in overall color and value, so if the scale is off, I just substitute a swatch that matches those the best.

I have EQ7. EQ has monthly fabric downloads. Interesting question because I am going to try to scan some special fabric into EQ for a new project today. Believe me I will have the instruction book out for every step.
