Does anyone use washers under your bobbins when doing free motion or regular sewing?

Thanks

I do. I started using them with FMQ, but I leave them in all the time now.

I've never had to use them. Aren't they supposed to prevent backlashing?

I sometimes get problems with my drop in bobbins. Will these help or are they only for front load bobbins?

Some of you are saying washers and some are saying washes. Are they like little felt circles to keep the bobbin from moving too easily and causing it to let the thread bunch up?
I have been planning on trying FM but now I don't understand this. Do I need to worry about it?
