Hi my name is Melody Wright. I have made two quilts on my machine and love the way quilting takes the stress away. I also love the quiet. So far I have given the quilts as a blessing.

Hi Melody, check that the maching is threaded properly mine did that the other day and I found the top thread had had come of the little arm that goes up and down, or the bobbin may need to be taken out and re threaded, other than that I haven't a clue

Rethread your machine - both spool & bobbin. That usually works.

I agree Mrs Wright, it's likely as simple as rethreading your machine, top and bobbin. If I may make a suggestion for the future. Cut yourself two blocks of fabric, about ten inches or so and a block of batting, sandwich them together keep this to use to test your machine before you start quilting on your actual quilt. That way you don't ever have to rip out! It gives me an opportunity to check my tension and make sure my machine was threaded correctly.

Welcome, from Pennsylvania. Yes, rethread your machine, both top and bobbin. And make sure you put in a new needle with each new project. If you are sewing on synthetics, polyester batting etc. the needles dull much faster than with all cottons. Also make sure you are using the right needle for the purpose. There are quilting needles, embroidery needles, and other kinds too as well as needles sizes. I use a 80/12 for all purpose sewing. As experienced as I am at sewing, I sometimes forget to check that the thread is over the thread takeup hook.

I agree. do what they said. Every time I have had the same problem as you, rethreading top and bottom did the trick!
