Question for those who spray baste
#11
I use Sullivan's in the pink can, it's great! I spray very lightly and do it in my basement. It doesn't choke me up and I don't get spray all over the place. I lay out the backing and put the batting over it, then fold it back in sections to spray the batting (not the fabric), and it works great. Then I put the top on and flip one side up, spray the batting, smooth it down, and spray the other side. On bigger quilts I do it in smaller sections at a time, working from the middle out.

I try and follow the directions on the cans - I spray in sections and have my ceiling on gentle so that the air is going down into the quilt. I have learned to spray the batting, do not spray the quilt fabric.

Thanks! I think I'll try that. I've been searching online for "aerosol-free basting spray" and haven't found any. And you say it doesn't gum up the needle? I can sure live without the spray basting can odor.
