Default question on washing instructions for IKEA Polorvide Poly

I purchased a light weight fleece type throw blanket at Ikea thinking it would make an inexpensive batting for charity quilts (think it was $3.95 size is 51 x 67). When I got it home and looked at the washing instructions I was confused. it read: "US: Machine wash warm. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean." I get the ironing part since it is 100% polyester but Not the dryer part. Would a persons dryer get hot enough to MELT this throw... I hesitate to use it now cause I don't want it to catch fire or MELT in someones dryer. I COULD put instructions on label but how many people do you think would actually READ it? It was made in Thailand. Guess I'll use as throw until it gets dirty (it is WHITE) then pitch !! any thoughts or comments ???? Thanks in advance!!

I would stick in low heat dry for few (10-15) minutes. Should be ok or hang outside if not rainig. Really should be ok in low heat just check on it.

Before I used it on a quilt, I'd put it in a hot or at least medium heat dryer. If it does well, then use it. If not
you know not to use it in a quilt.

It's not recommended to put any polyester items in a hot dryer. I would recommend low heat for any quilt, so I don't really think this throw is any different than using any other polyester batting. The warning not to use the dryer is probably to avoid legal liability. Also I read on one web site that this particular throw is linty, so that could be a problem in the dryer - a problem that will be solved if the throw is encased in a quilt.
