It's not recommended to put any polyester items in a hot dryer. I would recommend low heat for any quilt, so I don't really think this throw is any different than using any other polyester batting. The warning not to use the dryer is probably to avoid legal liability. Also I read on one web site that this particular throw is linty, so that could be a problem in the dryer - a problem that will be solved if the throw is encased in a quilt.
