Thanks for the kind words!

We are currently working on "Challenge #1" which you will be able to view mid-September.

Can't tell you anything about the challenge yet, but I think you will be seeing some fabulous results!

What's the beginning of this? Finalists in what? Pls give some details, I'm happy for both of them and send congratulations but would love to know what I'm happy about.
(P.S. I've often wondered why "Ugly Cook" is the chosen name for a very good-looking woman)

Haha! It's all about the cooking, not the face!

McCalls Quilting is having a "Design Star" contest. In June anyone could enter a quilt they'd made and then the top 15 were chosen to move on to design a challenge quilt, which we are now working on. Making it with this one moves on to possibly 2 more.

here's the link: http://www.mccallsquilting.com/conte...sign-star.html

Oh the COOKING (UglyCook's name). Well U.C. I bet I can beat you --- did you ever wash chopmeat? Now that was ugly.

I wash (well, rinse) chopmeat all the time to get the grease and fat off of it!

Oh my goodness. I'm not looking to get off topic but no, not in the dishwasher, by hand so it oozed thru my fingers, and I'm so surprised to find out someone else does that. My mom and little brother were going away to visit relatives, I was 16 and stayed home with my dad. She taught me to cook some simple things and "rinse the meats before you use them". I thought that included chopped meat and it became one of those family legends that won't die. Dad took me out to dinner that night.
