I like the heart idea too! I do this on quilts that have worn holes or tears from pets or too much washing! We USE my quilts BIG TIME!
I actually keep a small ziplock (sometimes a big one) with left over material just for this purpose. They are in a big clear box that I can get to in order to repair most my quilts:) Kinda crazy, huh?

I am curious why this thread did not show up on the regular digest page?

I love this quilt. The girls and I have been sleeping under it, and they are sooooo very careful to not scratch at it. They seem to know it is something special. It's kind of funny, but I really feel like this one was made FOR me. I know that the person who made it was no relation at all, but it just feels that way.

If I understand it right only the most posted in threads make it to the digest. This board has dozens & dozens of posts a day & can't put all of 'em in the digest. Of the 40 threads that I have posted only 2 have ever made it to the digest. Don't worry about it. Your vintage quilt is wonderful! :)

Here is the patch I put on the damaged square. The plain fabric really didn't look all that great, so I did a little decorating first, lol. I thought I would never get it turned under the machine. I really need a longer, wider, higher, lol...bigger space, if I am going to quilt. But I am pleased with my patch.

Thank you. I am rather pleased to have made a contribution to this quilt, no matter how small. And it's kind of neat to have given it a heart.
