I find that it is easy to just spread my hands out on it comfortably, but I also find that I frequently bump the insides of it because I'm watching more closely to what I'm doing and paying less attention to the halo. I think it mostly gets in my way and went back to my machingers.

Sharon Schamber watched me use the halo and told me to not grip it tightly but to put just enough pressure to move the fabric. She uses two, one on top of the other. I like to use just the one. And the halo is for small quilting motifs/feathers not big all over designs. it took me using it daily for a while to really get the hang of how it works and the longer I used it the smoother the fabric moved with no jerking motions. My hands don't get tired so that's worth learning to use it.
