    Default Just plain blocks

    Hey all
I know that we have some amazing quilters on this site. So here's a question if you only have plain blocks what pattern other than trip around the world would you use? There are 13 different colors and there are 35 blocks that are 4 1/2 inches. I need to make a lap quilt for a senior citizen that I don't know. So what are your suggestions?

Disappearing 9 patch would work. In D9P you sew together 9 squares and then cut the block down the middle of the block on the vertical and the horizontal to form new blocks. There is also disappearing 4 patch and I think both tutorials are on the board. You could also cut them in half and make a brick pattern.

I don't think you have enough blocks. You may need more yardage to fill in.

I too think you'll need to add some sashing in order to make this larger. You could also do pinwheels using a neutral as the second color on the pinwheel. Chinese coins pattern would work also.

if you wanted to make a top that is approximately 40 x 60 inches without borders, it would take approximately 150 squares whose cut size is 4.5 inches.

Do you have 35 squares each of 13 different colors (455 squares)? Or 35 squares total? or did I completely misunderstand what you wrote?
