Quilt Police!

Quilt Police!
I ordered several jelly rolls at a "too good to be true" price - and boy was I right! All were poorly cut, not true to size, mostly horrible fabric. Lesson learned! Today I am using this "bargain" to make a truly scrappy quilt. Practicing my accurate 1/4 inch seams and stitch in the ditch and free motion quilting. THIS quilt will probably last forever. I've already named it "What was she thinking?". If the quilt police don't come after me for this, they are never coming at all.... LOL...

You will probably do your best work because the stress of messing up expensive fabric is removed. If I order precuts online I have learned to stick with brand names and sites that have great customer service. Quality precuts are not cheap and if sold cheap there is a reason.

I would let the place you ordered from know of their poor quality and how disappointed you are in their merchandise and that you are letting your friends know of it. They need to be made aware of what they are selling. I'm sure they probably are aware of it, but need to be made aware that you are hitting where it hurts the most, their pocketbook by letting others know of this.

Not many quilt police left but they do pop up on occasion. Agree with onebyone and you about best work and will last forever. The very first project I made with a sewing/quilt group I bungled it...so winged it to a finish. Seven years later it is he only potholder that hasn't succumbed to wash, heat or irremovable stain or failed stitching. Go figure.

I've always felt any quilt police exist only in our own minds.
We are harder on ourselves than anyone else would think of being.
Have fun with the fabric! cut small enough any fabric is good fabric

What a great way to practice and use up yuck fabric and uneven strips, squares etc. Another idea is to learn paper piecing with stuff like this, just square it all up at the end no matter the size. And it does seem to last forever, but what fun to be so relaxed and know that you can't mess it up. Can we all adopt the Name? Please post a picture.
